Ørsted partners with WindServe to build two CTVs at U.S. shipyards; DOF Subsea books North Sea contracts

May 9, 2019 — Offshore wind leader Ørsted has partnered with WindServe Marine, LLC, a member of the Staten Island, N.Y. headquartered Reinauer Group, to construct two purpose-built offshore Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs). They will transport personnel for construction, maintenance, and operations from port to offshore wind farms.

Navis updates dangerous goods module of loading computer software

Oakland, Calif., headquartered Navis has announced an upgrade to the dangerous goods (DG) module of its MACS3 loading computer software to comply with the latest update of amendment 39-18 to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. Currently, compliance with the code is optional, but it will become mandatory on all vessels starting January 1, 2020.
Ultrasonic anti-fouling system gains ATEX certification

Coventry, U.K., headquartered NRG Marine Limited reports that its Sonihull ultrasonic anti-fouling system, has just been certified to be in compliance with the EU’s 94/9/EC ATEX directive, the regulation covering equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres.

Coast Guard Foundation honors Crowley

The Coast Guard Foundation recognized Crowley Maritime Corporation and its Chairman and CEO Tom Crowley Jr. for more than 30 years of support at its 25th Tribute to the Coast Guard Seventh District event in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The event, originally scheduled for late January but postponed due to the partial government shutdown, was held April 18.
