A decision from the Court of Justice of the European Union could end the use of red diesel for private pleasure craft in the UK

At the moment almost all diesel sold in British marinas is red diesel, taxed either at a lower rate if some of the fuel is used for heating the boat, or at 100% for the fuel that is used only for propulsion by the engine. In a case launched last year, the EU has argued that the UK should not allow red diesel to be used in this way.

16/10/2018​Reducing the amount of time ships spend waiting outside port and at anchor could significantly reduce ship emissions, according to studies carried out by members of the IMO GloMEEP Global Industry Alliance (GIA). Ships can spend hours or days waiting at anchor outside ports, but providing ships with regular updates about the availability of berths, especially in the last twelve hours prior to port arrival, can support significant reductions in ship and port emissions.

His magic combination team of tactician Morgan Reeser and crew Charlie Smythe came from third to finish first overall, crowning them supreme for a second year in a row. Oct 17th 2018: By posting 6 race wins in classes with 5 yachts or more, Tiffany Koo’s King Mills 40 Hero Racing Team and Lowell Chang’s AC35 Dexter II have tied on 16 points, for the Highest AYGP Score, at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s China Coast Regatta and slot into equal 3rd place, on their debut in the 2018-19 AYGP Rankings. Five race wins for Sam Chan’s TP52 FreeFire secured the IRC 0 title and Peter Churchouse’s Warwick Custom Moonblue 2, clean sweep of the Premier Cruising Class, are outstanding achievements but having less than 5 entries in their class, enter the 2018-19 AsianYachting Grand Prix (AYGP) Rankings, in 9th and 14th place respectively. October 16, 2018 — Both of Panama City, FL, headquartered Eastern Shipbuilding Group’s shipyards have been damaged by Category 4 Hurricane Michael. Just one indication of the severity of the storm: The 261-foot Alaska factory trawler North Star, which had been nearing completion at Eastern, was pictured resting on its starboard side in the waters of Saint Andrews Bay, FL, October 12, after being swept from its moorings.
