THE MELGES X BOAT EXPERIENCE
“If your youth regattas don’t look like this, maybe they should,” writes Scuttlebutt Sailing News in the article Revealing the Secret Sauce.
This is the Melges X Boat Experience. It’s not just about the racing. It’s about the community – Making lifelong friends through sailing, volleyball, and just plain fun. Over 100 boats racing at this year’s championship at Pewaukee Yacht Club.

IC37 FIRST IMPRESSIONS: CORY SERTL
“I really like the concept of this project. It really helps to limit the arms race, not just in terms of money and assets, but also in terms of how much time you have to put into your sailing.” Hear from owner Cory Sertl after her first day on the water.
What makes the Melges IC37 Class stand out is the strict class rules. The rules are intended to keep costs down, support amateur sailing, promote women in our sport and maintain equality of boats over time.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Melges E Scows, Melges C Scows, and Melges MCs faced off at the Western Michigan Yachting Association’s championship held this past weekend at Muskegon Yacht Club.
Tight action, nice breeze and as always a great party highlighted what was a top-notch regatta. In the E Scow fleet, Eddie Cox’s I-66 took top honors followed by Cam McNeil in second and Tom Munroe in third. The C Scow champion was Spring Lake’s Scott Harestad winning his second consecutive championship with Glenn McMurray and Joe Schaub close behind. In the MC fleet, Cam McNeil sailed a solid event to take first. Second place was Jamie Kimball and third was Will Crary. Full Results.

CAGLIARI VIBES
The Melges World League fleets of 20 and 32 now turn the spotlight to the city of Cagliari.
Cagliari is the most Italian of Sardinia’s cities. Vespas buzz up and down tree-fringed boulevards and locals hang out at the busy cafes that are tucked under arcades in the seafront Marina district. Cagliari wears its history on its sleeve and everywhere you go you come across traces of its rich past merging perfectly with the limpid blue waters that surround Sardinia.
