Damen to build two “hybrid-ready” ferries for Great Lakes
The Government of Ontario and Damen Shipyards Group have signed a contract for the design, build and delivery of two ferries to operate in the Canadian waters of the Great Lakes.
Ingalls Shipbuilding christens Delbert D. Black (DDG 119)
The ship is named in honor of Delbert D. Black, who served as a gunner’s mate in the U.S. Navy and was aboard the battleship USS Maryland (BB 46) during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Wärtsilä North America donates engine to Montana State
The donated engine and related tools from Wärtsilä are valued at $1.1 million dollars. The engine is a 12-cylinder Wärtsilä 200 high-speed diesel engine and will be used in Northern’s “Big Bore Lab” in the university’s future Diesel Technology Center.
