17:02:2017 Subic Bay, Philippines: It’s that time of the year again, when the top racing teams in Asia, come together for the 220nm Philippine blue water classic, Subic Bay to Boracay Race. When the high noon starting signal sounds on Saturday 18th in Subic Bay, a great lineup of maxi yachts, Frank Pong’s Custom Dibley 75 Jelik is back to defend the title and Geoff Hill’s Smith 72 Custom Antipodes, will be taking on Seng Huang Lee’s massive 100ft Scallywag, having rushed back, after contesting the Sydney Hobart Race in December. They are aiming to break the race record and add it to the Hainan Race record they smashed last year.

We’ve been firing on all cylinders in Zenda, Wisconsin at the Melges Headquarters. Every single boat that leaves our shop is crafted with the utmost precision. Most recently, we’ve been building Melges 14s, Melges E Scows, Melges C Scows, Melges MCs, and Melges X Boats. Last year we built over 100 Melges 14s! This year is shaping up to be another great year for the new fleet with lots of 14s already in production. We recently shipped out 3 of these speed machines to Japan, and in the current production line we’re building 10 bound for Germany. To get scow country ready for the new season, we’ve been building a great number of boats including a 2017 Melges E Scow soon to be in the hands of Jeff Solum of the Minnetonka Yacht Club.

February 13, 2017 — All American Marine, Inc. (AAM), Bellingham, WA, has won a contract to build a 600-passenger aluminum monohull passenger vessel for San Francisco’s Red and White Fleet. The vessel will be the first aluminum hulled, Lithium-Ion battery-electric hybrid vessel built from the keel up under USCG subchapter-K passenger vessel regulations.
