2016 Melges 32 World Championship – Previewing The Podium

The stage is set and teams are ready for World Championship competition in historic Newport, Rhode Island
Newport, RI – Thirteen teams from five countries are primed to descend on the sailing capital of the United States, Newport, Rhode Island for the eighth edition of the Melges 32 World Championship, hosted by Sail Newport, launching out of the Newport Shipyard.
Racing begins on Thursday, September 29th, and with a fleet density heavier than the Claiborne Pell Newport Suspension Bridge, the event will undoubtedly come down to the final beat of the final race, but the main question will be which team will be standing atop the podium at the conclusion of the event.

Sébastien Rogues takes Team ENGIE to the podium in Sotogrande

The 4th stage of the GC32 Racing Tour concluded today in Sotogrande, Spain marked by Sébastien Rogues and Team ENGIE’s fine performance. The team, coached by Olympic trainer Bertrand Dumortier, achieved their best performance of the season so far, finishing third with 62 points. The last event, which will be held in Marseille, will be an opportunity to put to the test some of the positive changes that have been brought on board as they aim for fifth place on the overall rankings.

Adam Minoprio and GC32 Norauto shine in Spain

It isn’t just the boats that fly across the water, but also the GC32 Norauto team. Event after event, the French team have been improving their performance and are having a flying first season on the GC32 Racing Tour, despite the crew changes, variations to the race areas and sailing conditions. Adam Minoprio together with Thierry Douillard, Nicolas Heinz, Arnaud Jarlegan and Matthieu Vandame have taken great care to perform well this weekend in Sotogrande. The pace was relentless with fifteen races in just four days. The team won ten races to extend their lead over the Swiss Team Tilt by twenty points.

CE marked workboat built by Broson, Sweden. Unique boat where the owner has been determining lines, materials and equipment. Built in 2010 and launched in spring 2011. 11,80 x 3,80 meters. 2 x Volvo Penta D6-330 with a DPH drive. Starboard sterndrive new in September 2016. The aft deck is strengthened for hydraulic crane but not fitted. 360 Virtual Tour shows the hull with oil change and new seal bearings.
