June 26, 2016 – Kiel, Germany – Two races at the final day of the third event of the 2016 Melges 24 European Sailing Series in the Olympic Port of Kiel, Germany did not change the podium of Melges 24 fleet. Twenty two teams from seven nations experienced wonderful Kiel Week entertainment together with competitive racing during four days. The event ended with the same top three as coming into the final day. Double victory went to Italy – Andrea Pozzi’s Bombarda was victorious followed by Andrea Racchelli’s Altea as second, and the podium was completed by Miles Quinton’s Gill Race Team from Great Britain.

Dateline Newport RI: June 26, 2016— His Excellency, The Governor of Bermuda, George Fergusson did his duty Saturday night on the podium in front of Government House. The seasoned diplomat shook hands, shared awards and trophies, and posed for photos 114 times with skippers and crews of more than 50 yachts. Sharing duties with the Governor were Royal Bermuda Yacht Club Commodore Leatrice Oatley, Cruising Club of America Commodore Jim Binch, and the RBYC Vice-Commodore Jon Corless. The RBYC Honorary Secretary Andy Burnett-Herkes was Master of Ceremonies.

June 25, 2016 – Kiel, Germany – Third day of the 2016 Melges 24 European Sailing Series third event at Kiel Week gave additional three races to the series today. The conditions in Kiel have not been easy for the sailors as yesterday only one race was possible to execute. Two teams have been keeping their positions since the beginning of the event – Andrea Pozzi’s Bombarda ITA841 and Andrea Racchelli’s Altea ITA735, both from Italy. Miles Quinton’s Gill Race Team GBR694 from Great Britain made it to the third position after seven races sailed with one discard coming into effect today.

Dateline Newport RI: June 24, 2016— An international group of sailors and guests at the 2016 Newport Bermuda Race prize-giving will celebrate the final moments of a spectacular week after starting the 50th Thrash to the Onion Patch Friday, June 17 in Newport, RI. Of the 185 boats officially registered to race, 133 boats set out expecting be sorely tested by difficult conditions in the 635-mile Gulf stream crossing. Forecasters were wrong. 122 finished with just ten dropouts coming from equipment failures or just drifting conditions. The race actually turned out to be one of finest with a full moon and normal offshore sailing conditions.
