Moran patents technology to use LNG boil-off gas in ATBs
May 27, 2015—A recently patented technology could make the use of boil-off gas as fuel practical in LNG Articulated Tug Barge units. Naval architectural and marine engineering firm Elliott Bay Design Group, Seattle, WA, reports that Moran Towing Corporation, New Canaan, CT, has been granted U.S. Patent 8,967,174 for “Articulated conduit systems and uses thereof for fuel gas transfer between a tug and barge.”
