December 26, 2014—Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) has released a few more details about the new freight and passenger ferry it designed for the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket Steamship Authority. The ferry will be built at Conrad Shipyard in Morgan City, LA, under a $36.4 million contract. The new ferry, Woods Hole, will replace the M/V Governor, the oldest vessel in the SSA’s fleet.
Seven hours into the 2014 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, Jim Clark’s 100-ft Maxi Comanche (USA) leads the fleet. A memorable edition of the 628-nm race appears certain, with the contest between the fleet’s five Maxi yachts living up to the pre-race hype.
