Mini solo sailor, Lizzy Foreman on what drives a just 24-year old, pint-sized girl, to tackle the ocean alone in a 23 foot boat!

Cowes, Isle of Wight-based Hudson Wight Performance Sailwear was the first new marine clothing brand to enter the marine leisure market in 2013 since the introduction of the internet in 1989.

Hudson Wight specialises in designing general-purpose foul & fair weather performance clothing using the latest generation of high spec two & three-layer OceanVent fabrics.

The product range is built around the core HW1 Jacket, Smock & Salopettes and for 2014/2015 we have introduced the Performance Jacket. All products are designed to suit anyone needing protection from the elements whether sailing or motorboating.

Hudson Wight is the Title Sponsor of Lizzy Foreman, the UK’s Mini Transat sailor who will compete in this infamous solo race in 2015. Mini Transat 6.50 also known as Transat 650 is the solo transatlantic yacht race that starts in France and ends in Brazil covering over 4,000 miles with a stop in Madeira or the Canary Islands. The yachts are very small considering the scope of the race! The race runs on odd-numbered years, and was most recently completed in 2013. Sailors have to qualify by covering one of two specified 1,000 mile courses along with having 1,000 miles of ocean racing experience, much of it solo.

Lizzy will be based with Hudson Wight throughout the Show. Read her latest Blog after successfully racing in the 2,000 mile solo offshore Les Sables-Azores-Les Sables Race.
