Hamilton, Bermuda, June 27, 2014 – Royal Bermuda Yacht Club – The US Naval Academy TP52 Constellation has won the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club Anniversary Regatta held Friday June 27 in Bermuda’s Great Sound and adjacent waters. Only the second race counted in the results and Constellation won that.His Excellency the Governor of Bermuda Mr. George Fergusson, who sailed aboard Constellation in both races, was at the helm of last leg of the final race. He drove the yacht from the Great Sound, through Two Rocks Passage and on to the finish off the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in Hamilton Harbour.

Norwegian rescue ship “Hagbart Waage” converted into a passenger vessel in Norway.
Built at Smedvik Mek Verksted A/S/Hasund mek. Varksted A/S in 1968 to DnV Class.

LOA: 22.87 metres
Beam: 6.02 metres
Draft: 2.85 metres

Top speed: 10 knots

Main engine: 2 x Detroit Diesel 8V-71N, 242 bHp each with Twin-Disk gearboxes.

“Hagbart Waage” is the sister vessel of the most famous “Fredrikstad” rescue ship that was converted into an exclusive pleasure yacht and have sailed around the word with passengers for more than 15 years now.
“Hagbart Waage” was converted to passenger vessel in Norway and had the restauration of the main lounge and large sun deck finished in 2008. Since then she has taken passengers on cuises to both Greenland and Spetsbergen up in the north.

Laney Chouest sworn in as New Orleans Port Commissioner

— Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal has appointed Laney J. Chouest to the Board of the Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans. Chouest, who was sworn in during yesterday’s Board meeting, will serve a five-year term, succeeding Joseph F. Toomy, one of two Jefferson Parish representatives on the regional Board that governs Port operations in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes.
